Program Services If a member of your family is killed or injured in a criminal action, you have certain rights, either constitutionally provided by states or through statutes. PA September 11 Program staff help you understand those rights, provide guidance to obtain whatever compensation the law allows, and keep you informed of progress. Personal, one-on-one advocacy and PA Sept 11 Support Groups for you and your family are the key elements of the Program. << TOP
You are eligible for assistance through the PA Sept. 11 Victim Assistance Program IF:
Unsure of your situation?
A staff of professionals provides one-on-one support for the physical, emotional, and financial needs of eligible victims via personal visits and a 24-hours a day, 7-days a week help line, (866) 328-2800. Professional, caring people, sensitive to your needs and knowledgeable in support services available to you visit you in your home to provide support and assistance. Advocates deal with state and federal agencies, the criminal justice system, and many other organizations to ensure that victims receive full benefit from all the programs available to them and their loved ones. << TOP
If additional professional support is required for complex physical, emotional, or financial needs, referrals will be provided. << TOP
Continuing personal contact keeps you informed of any new programs as they are developed. Additional consultation is scheduled, if needed, to ensure that your mental and physical health is sustained. A quarterly newsletter and Web site, www.PaSept11.org, provide details about benefits, future events, memorial services, and important program deadlines. << TOP
Accompaniment to sites and memorial services is provided, when needed. << TOP
The Program helps people access whatever immediate needs they have —physical, emotional, financial, or otherwise. Assistance in filing claims, completing forms, and providing required documentation is provided. Scheduled personal visits in your home (if desired) and facilitated support groups provide confidential support and assistance. |
